The Bacchus Hot Runner System
Integrated Filter Prevents Contamination in Crate Molding

D-M-E’s Bacchus Hot Runner System comes standard with an integrated filter element. For molders of crates made from recycled materials, the integrated filter keeps common contaminants such as glass from entering the nozzles, which could cause a stop in production.

The Bacchus system is designed for use with commodity materials such as polyethylene, 3polypropylene and polystyrene. Its integrated filter element is easily removable for cleaning without disassembling the whole hot runner manifold. Available in four- and six-drop configurations with a standard nozzle, the systems also feature:

  • Two seal-off zones.
  • Cast-in heaters for improved temperature profile.
  • Cylindrical front sealing and a second Ti washer sealing to prevent leaks.

This last point is important due to the wide range of processing facilities and locations around the world where crates are produced, some having limited access to the skills and tools needed to do maintenance if a leak were to occur
