Money Saving Tip Swap Valve The
Smartflow Swap Valve is a simple, manually selectable device that
supplies cooling water to the mould during processing. Secondly, it
supplies air to purge the water from the mould, cooling lines, Supply
and Return manifolds prior to tool change. It also provides a
manual vent to release built-up air pressure within the cooling water
loop after purging.
There are many benefits that the Swap Valve
can offer when installed. Saving 15-20 minutes of unproductive
tool change time by eliminating the tasks of draining multiple supply
and return hoses, plus cleaning-up water spills. It protects tools from
corrosion build-up during downtime and storage by evacuating water
quickly and thoroughly. The full port design permits maximum cooling
water flow at minimum pressure drop. Please click here

Solution Center Customer Question We
are a PVC injection moulder and are having a terrible time with the
outgassing of hydrochloric acids which is causing great discomfort to
our machine operators. We also have an issue with pitting and
oxidization of our moulds and other metal machinery in the
vicinity. Do you have a solution to our problem?
Solution To
eliminate outgassing we recommend our Mould Saver Release Agent, it is
a combination release agent and acid neutralizer. A unique release
formulation that utilizes a non-silicone, paintable release oil, that
won’t interfere with post-moulding decoration of the finished
part. To this release oil we add a powerful base material that
constantly works to neutralize the acids as they are being emitted from
the PVC resin at the point of production, eliminating the problem of
outgassing. As you reapply the mould release, the neutralizing
agent is strengthened to provide constant protection against the acids.

As
for pitting and oxidation while moulding PVC, the release of the acids
can lead to plate-out and resin buildup on the tool or mould surface.
Our Slide Resin Remover (aka “The Stripper”) provides a quick and easy
solution to aid with the removal of this problematic resin. Resin
Remover is a production product, designed to be used with the mould
still in the machine and a surface temperature above 175’F. The
chemicals in Resin Remover work with the heat to break down and soften
the old, unwanted residue. After approximately 90 seconds, the
mould is put back into production. The fresh resin injected into the
mould cavity will combine with the unwanted resin material and strip it
from the mould, leaving behind a clean, residue-free surface. Using
Resin Remover saves time and money as compared to taking a machine out
of service and sending the mould to the tool room for manual cleaning.

D-M-E Mould Counters D-M-E Moulding Supplies introduces our Mould Counter, designed to assist in your mould maintenance program. These
cost effective counters positively monitor mould activity, confirms
process monitoring data and maximizes mould maintenance procedures.
This
precise device has a glass-filled nylon housing for rugged durability
and uses a non-resettable, mechanical, 7 digit counter to record the
number of times a mould closes and withstands operating temperatures up
to 250ºF (121ºC) . Depending on how the counter is set, each mould
cycle triggers the digital display to increase or decrease.
