DME Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Hot Runner Service Center
DME, worldwide leader in mold technologies, this month is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Hot Runner Service Center, a key component of the company’s commitment to providing customers with everything they need to succeed with a hot runner system.
The center, which was initiated in 2000 to give processors the support and services necessary to run systems at maximum efficiency, continues to enhance its offers to encompass the latest advances in hot runner systems, including electric valve gate technology.
Located in Madison Heights, DME’s Hot Runner Service Center is staffed by a team of experts with more than 40 years of experience installing, assembling and repairing hot runner systems. With its comprehensive suite of services, the Service Center provides a single source for maintenance and optimization of any hot runner system, whether manufactured by DME or a competitor.
“The Hot Runner Service Center has been an essential resource to molders for the last 10 years because of the knowledge and proficiency of our technicians,” said DME Hot Runner Business Manager Craig Kovacic. “In addition to manufacturing high-quality products at DME, we also have a strong commitment to providing unmatched service. Ten years of installing, assembling and repairing hot runner system is experience that is uncommon in the industry.”
Key services include:
- Repairs
- System cleaning
- Total system rebuild
- Re-configurations
- Operator training
- Mold tryouts
Over the past 10 years, the Service Center has prided itself on quick turnarounds. Its technicians recognize that an out-of-commission tool can kill productivity and threaten production schedules. As a result, they make every effort to get machines back in service as quickly as possible. Standard turnaround time for repairs on systems from 1-12 drops is five working days or less, depending on part availability for non-DME systems. Emergency 24-hour turnaround service is also available.
In addition to repairs, the DME Service Center also conducts complete system rebuilds, with cost savings of at least 40 percent compared to a new system. A rebuild extends the life of the tool, maximizes system uptime and performance and improves finished part quality. Key components of a system rebuild typically include: conducting complete bake-out cleaning, checking and replacing heaters and thermocouples, inspecting and correcting wiring, replacing seals and bushings, cleaning or replacing nozzle components, checking all dimensions and re-assembling the system.
The Service Center also re-configures systems for process changes such as a material switch or a part design change. It provides comprehensive operator training in start-up prototyping, with a hands-on program designed to help operators learn or stay current with hot runner technology. Additionally, it offers mold tryouts, with injection molding machines from 110 to 1,000 tons available to run molds and ensure proper performance.
Since the 1970s, DME has developed and marketed a full spectrum of hot runner systems and components. From Moldflow analysis to turnkey hot-half systems and everything in between, the DME family of hot runner products and services offers a comprehensive array of solutions for a wide range of applications.
To celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Service Center, DME is offering all customers a 10% discount on their next service with the center.
